Flash incremental games, and where to play them now

Adobe Flash was switched off at the end of 2020, taking a generation of Kongregate and Armor Games idlers with it. Here's where each classic lives today: official ports first, then BlueMaxima's Flashpoint archive and Ruffle emulation. Ruffle support varies by game, so a Ruffle link isn't a guarantee it runs.

The Flash games

Anti-Idle: The Game

Preserved / archived

Tukkun · Flash on Kongregate (released December 23, 2009)

  • Official offline download (standalone .exe/.swf): Download link given on the community wiki's Getting Started page as the place to get the latest version.
  • Kongregate (Ruffle-emulated): Kongregate's game embed page for this title has game_type 'flash' and loads the Ruffle emulator (unpkg @ruffle-rs/ruffle); whether this specific game runs correctly under Ruffle was not verified. A 2026 player comment on the page mentions Ruffle's save manager. The Incremental Games fandom list says 'Does not work as of 3/14/23'.
  • BlueMaxima's Flashpoint: Listed as 'Anti-Idle: The Game' (Tukkun / Kongregate, Flash, 2009-12-24), status 'Hacked; Playable'.

Kongregate shows last update December 16, 2020. Official play today is the offline Flash build; the browser version depends on Ruffle.

Crusaders of the Lost Idols

Officially ported

Codename Entertainment · Flash on Kongregate (released July 30, 2015); also on Armor Games

  • Steam (official): Free to play; Steam release October 13, 2015; the store page describes monthly events and regular new campaigns.
  • Codename Games launcher: The game's fandom wiki says it can be played via a launcher from the Codename Games website. The launcher itself was not checked.

Armor Games says it is 'currently not available' because Ruffle does not run it. The Kongregate page still exists, but its embed points to an external host (idlemaster.djartsgames.ca) that returned an error page when fetched directly. No entry found in the Flashpoint database.

  • Steam (official): Free to play; released June 15, 2017; publisher Kongregate.
  • Kongregate (Ruffle-emulated): Kongregate's game embed page for this title has game_type 'flash' and loads the Ruffle emulator (unpkg @ruffle-rs/ruffle); whether this specific game runs correctly under Ruffle was not verified. A February 2022 Steam forum thread said the Flash version could not be made to work in browsers.
  • BlueMaxima's Flashpoint: Two entries: 'Realm Grinder (V1)' and 'Realm Grinder' (Armor Games, 2016-09-27), both Flash, status 'Playable'.

Clicker Heroes

Officially ported

Playsaurus · Flash on Kongregate (August 2014) and Armor Games (September 2014)

  • CrazyGames (official Unity port): Relaunched on CrazyGames in September 2022 after Playsaurus ported it from Flash to Unity (Wikipedia). CrazyGames rating 9.1.
  • Armor Games (HTML build): The page embeds an HTML game file (cache.armorgames.com/.../index.html), not a Flash file. That conflicts with the CrazyGames claim that it is 'exclusively on CrazyGames'.
  • Steam (official): Free to play; released May 13, 2015.
  • BlueMaxima's Flashpoint: Flash original listed (Playsaurus / Newgrounds, 2014-07-28), status 'Playable'.

The Kongregate page is still the Flash version (game_type 'flash', last updated June 9, 2020), served through Ruffle; compatibility there was not verified.

Often remembered as Flash, but weren't

These ran in the browser in the same era but were built with Unity or HTML5, so they were never affected by the Flash shutdown in the same way.

This was never a Flash game, and the original HTML5 version still runs. Kotaku lists a release date of March 30, 2015. No Kongregate page was found.

Idle Wizard

Officially ported

TwoWizards · Unity web game on Kongregate (released November 15, 2016); not Flash

Officially ported

Hyper Hippo Productions · Unity browser game on Kongregate (browser launch May 30, 2014); not Flash

Eternal Density (with community contributors) · JavaScript/HTML browser game based on xkcd 1190 'Time', hosted at castle.chirpingmustard.com

  • castlebuilder.app: Listed as the 'new playable domain' on the xkcd-time fandom wiki; returned HTTP 200 with Sandcastle Builder content.
  • crashsnowdon.com mirror: Listed on the xkcd-time wiki, which says this domain has had outages. Returned HTTP 200 with Sandcastle Builder content.
  • Source on GitHub: Repo created 2013-09-12; last push 2026-09-12. Recent commits are a modernization/parity effort.
  • BlueMaxima's Flashpoint: Listed as HTML5 (eternaldensity), status 'Playable'.

This is an HTML game, not Flash, and it still works. The original host castle.chirpingmustard.com does not resolve (NXDOMAIN via 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1), but the README still points to it.
