10 Idle Games You Can Play Offline With No Wi-Fi (Checked Against the Store Pages)

Idle games you can play offline with no Wi-Fi: 10 picks whose store pages say no internet is needed, plus popular idlers that quietly require a connection.

For a flight, a commute or a cabin with no signal, the safest idle games are the ones whose own store pages say no internet is required: Zero Stress King: Idle Defense (paid, no in-app purchases), Tap Ninja and PickCrafter on phone or PC, and Idle Research on Steam. All ten picks below come with the exact line from the store page, so you are not guessing at the airport.

This page is about playing without a connection, which is different from offline progress (a game earning while it is closed). Some games do both, and our idle games with offline progress list covers the second meaning. For every entry we read the App Store or Steam description in November 2026; ratings are the App Store average or the Steam percentage from the IncrementalGames.org catalog.

01

Zero Stress King: Idle Defense: best for a paid, purchase-free game for a long flight

Platform: Steam, Browser, Mobile · paid

Zero Stress King is a tower defense where you cannot lose. Enemies charge your walls and fall into a river of lava, you collect the payout, buy defenders and upgrade production, and the conquest map doubles as your skill tree. There are no fail states and no restarts.

The iOS listing is unusually direct: "Full PC game. No in-app purchases. No internet required." It costs $1.99 on iPhone and $6.99 on Steam for Windows and Mac, and the Steam version is 87% positive from about 1,890 reviews as of November 2026.

Pick it if you want one purchase that will run on a plane with nothing to buy and nothing to sign into.

Watch out for: The App Store version had only a handful of ratings in November 2026, so most player feedback is on the Steam version.

02

Tap Ninja - Idle Game: best for a pixel-art ninja village on phone or PC

Platform: Steam, Mobile · free

Tap Ninja starts with a well-timed katana slash and grows into research, a village of your own, heroes sent on missions to conquer provinces, and a zoo of pets that bond with you. It mixes short active bursts with idle gold.

The App Store description says an internet connection is not required, and that your village keeps earning gold while you are offline. It is free on iPhone (4.8 stars from about 540 ratings) and on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux, where it is 78% positive from about 2,850 reviews as of November 2026.

Pick it if you want one game that does both meanings of offline: playable without Wi-Fi, and earning while closed.

Watch out for: Steam lists in-app purchases and four DLC items for the PC version.

03

PickCrafter: best for block mining when you are underground for real

Platform: Steam · free-to-play

PickCrafter has you tap a pickaxe through block biomes, upgrade legendary pickaxes, collect blocks and gear, fight bosses and prestige through ascension tiers on the way to Mars. A hopper keeps gathering while you are away.

The App Store listing for PickCrafter: Mining & Crafting says no internet connection is necessary. It is free on iPhone with 4.8 stars from about 13,700 ratings, and free on Steam for Windows and Mac at 86% positive from about 6,900 reviews as of November 2026.

Pick it for a subway commute. Our idle mining games guide has more in the same vein.

Watch out for: The App Store listing describes optional real-money purchases and an auto-renewing subscription, and Steam lists in-app purchases too.

04

Idle Research: best for number crunching on a laptop with no signal

Platform: Steam · free-to-play

Idle Research has you research and craft flasks and tubes to generate three kinds of energy, with several prestige types, fights, skills and potion brewing. It supports idle and active play and lists 148 achievements.

Its Steam page says it can be played anywhere at any time, with no internet or constant attention required. It is free on Windows, Mac and Linux, in Early Access, and 85% positive from about 1,700 Steam reviews as of November 2026.

Pick it if you are traveling with a laptop and want a pure numbers game.

Watch out for: Steam lists in-app purchases and no cloud saves, so a save made offline stays on that machine.

05

Nordicandia: best for an auto-battling action RPG on a PC with no internet

Platform: Steam · free

Nordicandia is a semi-idle action RPG. Your Warrior, Hunter or Mage targets and attacks monsters automatically, you click to move and use skills at key moments, and the character keeps gaining experience and loot while you are away. Crafting lets you merge stats between items.

The Steam page says you can hack and slash through monsters even when you do not have an internet connection. It is free in Early Access on Windows and Linux.

Pick it if you want something that looks like a Diablo-style game rather than a spreadsheet.

Watch out for: It is 66% positive from about 640 Steam reviews as of November 2026, the weakest score here, and Steam lists in-app purchases.

06

Will it Crush? Idle Game Gear: best for the simplest possible phone idler

Platform: Mobile · free-to-play

Will it Crush? asks one question and answers it on the store page: yes. You build and upgrade a double toothed roller machine and feed it things to crush. That is the whole game, which is why it works on a bus.

The App Store listing promises endless upgrades, no internet connection required, and suggests playing in a boring class or meeting. It is free, with 4.5 stars from about 64,600 ratings.

Pick it when you want zero learning curve and a satisfying loop.

Watch out for: There is little depth, and the catalog records no ending. Treat it as a fidget toy.

07

Idle Factory Tycoon: Business!: best for factory tycoon fans on a phone

Platform: Mobile · free-to-play

Kolibri Games' Idle Factory Tycoon has you build workstations across several factories, hire managers so products sell automatically, and keep workers running while you are away. Prestiging factories raises output.

The App Store feature list includes "No internet connection needed" right next to "In-App purchases available". It is free, with 4.8 stars from about 25,400 ratings.

Pick it if you like the AdVenture Capitalist loop but want something that does not need a connection.

Watch out for: In-app purchases are listed. Tycoon idlers like this lean on time-skips and boosts, so set a budget.

08

Roadside Empire: Gas station: best for a road trip game about a road stop

Platform: Mobile · free-to-play

Roadside Empire puts you in charge of a gas station that grows into car washes, hotels, a pawn shop and, the store page notes, toilets. You hire staff, research boosters and go on expeditions.

The listing says it twice: no internet connection needed, play wherever you are. It is free, with 4.8 stars from about 33,600 ratings, and was updated in October 2026.

Pick it for the passenger seat on a long drive.

Watch out for: It is a mobile free-to-play tycoon. The listing does not detail its ad or purchase model, so check the in-app purchases section on the store page.

09

Trailer Park Boys Greasy Money: best for fans of the show on a flight

Platform: Mobile · free-to-play

Greasy Money is the official Trailer Park Boys idle game from East Side Games. You manage Sunnyvale trailer park, hire workers to automate cash, collect character cards, fight bosses and play through animated mobile-only seasons. Getting busted and restarting the park is part of how you progress.

The App Store listing says it is available to play offline without a data connection, and that a network connection is required for some features. It is free with 4.8 stars from about 107,000 ratings, the most of any game here.

Pick it if you know the show. The jokes carry it.

Watch out for: Time-limited events and some features need a connection, and the listing mentions real-money items and a subscription for the Hashcoin Collector.

10

Planet Evolution: Idle Clicker: best for a calm tap-and-decorate game with no rush

Platform: Mobile, Browser · free-to-play

Planet Evolution has you tap a planet to collect coins, which slowly attracts objects flying through space that decorate and build it. Upgrades, boosters and a prestige system carry you to new areas of the universe.

The App Store listing says "Play offline and for free!" It has 4.8 stars from about 29,700 ratings, and there is also a browser version on CrazyGames for when you are back online.

Pick it when you want something relaxing rather than a numbers race.

Watch out for: The real-time leaderboard the listing mentions needs a connection, so the competitive part waits until you are back online.

How to make sure an idle game works offline

Most store pages do not say either way, so a little checking before you leave saves a dull trip.

01

Read the store description, not the genre

Search the listing for "internet" or "offline". Some popular idlers say the opposite of what you would expect: the App Store listing for Melvor Idle says it requires an internet connection to play, and AdVenture Capitalist's says the same. A game earning offline progress tells you nothing about whether it runs without Wi-Fi.

02

Prepare Steam before you lose the connection

Steam games that do not need online services can run in Steam's Offline Mode, but you have to start the client online first and download any updates before you go. Zero Stress King, Tap Ninja, PickCrafter, Idle Research and Nordicandia are on Steam. If a game uses cloud saves, sync before you leave so the offline save is the newest one.

03

Expect some features to wait

Leaderboards, events, daily rewards and purchases usually need a connection even in games that play offline. Trailer Park Boys Greasy Money and Planet Evolution say so on their store pages. Browser games need a connection to load, so open them before you leave or pick a downloadable game from this list.

Download one before you board

Install Zero Stress King if you want a single purchase with nothing to buy, or Tap Ninja if you want free and earning while closed. Open it once while you are still online, so any first-launch download is done.
